We recently had the chance to help a homeowner in one of the older neighborhoods of Brandon, Florida. Like many homes in the area, theirs was built decades ago—and still had the original Challenger electrical panel.
“We’ve lived here for over 30 years,” the homeowner told us. “We raised our kids here. It’s home. But we had no idea the panel was even an issue until we got a letter from our insurance company.”
The letter gave them 30 days to replace the panel or face cancellation of their homeowners insurance. Naturally, they were alarmed.
“We were blindsided,” they said. “You don’t expect to get that kind of letter out of the blue. We were worried about the cost—we’re retired now, and everything’s more expensive these days.”
They called Bryan Hindman Electric after finding us online and reading some of our reviews. Our team came out for a complimentary inspection and confirmed that the Challenger panel did, in fact, need to be replaced—and that they would also need a new disconnect to bring the home up to code.
“Your technician was so professional and patient. He explained what needed to be done without making us feel pressured,” they shared. “Then he told us about financing through Enhancify—and that really saved us.”
By financing the work through Enhancify, the couple was able to get everything taken care of quickly, with affordable monthly payments that fit their budget.
“We ended up with payments around $180 a month,” they said. “Honestly, it was way more manageable than we thought. And the interest rate was better than expected too.”
With the panel upgraded and the disconnect replaced, the homeowners were able to keep their insurance—and sleep easier knowing their electrical system is now safer.
“We feel so much better now,” they said. “It’s not something we ever wanted to deal with, but we’re thankful we found a company that worked with us and helped us through it.”
